A regular crisis of identity for me. I want my music to be successful. Am I hindering this goal by having too much of my past work and current self exposed through the Internet? Probably the most boring question involving the words “Internet” and “exposed.”

I have to break through the songwriting wall this week – that is my goal. The relative lack of anything to say is what has stalled a project that I would desperately love to complete in the next six weeks.

Resurfacing

I spent the weekend making the Sidedown world more uniform. Trying to keep all of my sites cohesive with a simple layout that doesn’t get in the way of the content. There’s some tweaking to do, but it has started off nicely.

Is there a word, possibly German, for a feeling of annoyance, less-than-anger, jealousy, and mostly valid disappointment while still being happy for someone and encouraging in their success? If so, let me know, because I have that.

I had a good conversation with someone yesterday about songwriting and tapping into one’s apathy. It definitely helped me realize that I am not a personal person who writes personal lyrics, and that’s okay.
